Nail & hair tech or medical assisting which makes more money?

Nail techs can make good money ($18 - $40 hr or more), but depending on the area and salon it takes time to build a clientelle. Medical assistants can start out making OK money, and its guaranteed, plus you can get benefits. Its hard for those of us in the salon industry to find a salon that offers health benefits since most of the time you are considered an independant contractor.

If you want more info on the salon biz, go to beautytech.com and talk to the girls on the message board. They can tell you all you need to know.

Whatever you choose, do what you love. Money will never buy you happiness.Nail %26amp; hair tech or medical assisting which makes more money?
personally, go with what you love to do more... not only the money. I am a makeup artist and absolutely love my job. I am not known in hollywood just yet but when I get there I know I will be making big money so if you have skills in hair and nails go for it! when you do get big in hollywood be prepared for loooong hours traveling, and sometimes no work for months! (unless your on a high budget movie for a year or so) but if you want to go into a medicinal field because you like research, helping others, etc. go for that!Nail %26amp; hair tech or medical assisting which makes more money?
based on my friends info...med assist don't make that much over mim. wage..of course it depends on the area you live in.. a good nail tech can make $200- $400 a day if they are quick and again depending on the area.
Nail %26amp; Hair be something you may be able to have your own business one day. So, the future prospects of making money may be better over time.
I know that medical assistants in a DR. office start off at approx 13.00 an hour in Ohio.
